Jada Pinkett, Will Smith Share Plans To Celebrate 15 Years Of Marriage

Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith are set to celebrate 15 years as husband and wife at the end of the year in December. The couple who has recently been oft-plagued with marital strife teetering on divorce rumors will celebrate a pivotal point in their marriage.

“Fifteen years! It’s amazing, isn’t it?” Pinkett-Smith said at the New York City premiere of “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” recently. “I was just doing the “Today” show, and there was a couple there who was celebrating 59 years of marriage, and I thought to myself, ’15 years ain’t nothing, you know?’ It’s just the beginning. That’s the way I look at it.”

So, do the Smith’s have a special way of celebrating for their 15th year?

“You know, we celebrate throughout the year,” she told People.com. “But usually on our wedding anniversary, we give ourselves a high-five and go, ‘We survived another year, homie! Yeah!’ ”

The 40-year-old actress and rocker compared marriage to “a beautiful journey with lots of chapters.”

“You know, we are nothing like what we were when we first met. Nothing like that,” she said. “Biggest change is that we have grown up. We have matured.”

The mother-of-three spoke candidly about how the two have endured the many sometimes wild speculations about their union insisting they are the “best of friends.”

“We as men and women have to learn how to be friends with one another. It’s not just about loving someone. It’s about understanding, acceptance, and compassion.”

She added: “You have to be there for each other. That’s how you build great relationships.”

Though December is a few months away, we wish the lovely couple the best!
