Beyoncé, Colin Farrell and Josh Hutcherson get lead voice roles in Fox’s Epic.
After taking a brief hiatus from the big screen, Beyoncé will join Colin Farrell and Josh Hutcherson in lending a voice to Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios’ Epic, according to a Deadline report.
The upcoming 3D action-adventure comedy will portray a teen girl who winds up in a fantasy forest where good and evil are locked in an epic battle for domination. She is tasked to save the enchanted forest, aided by a group of odd creatures.
Beyoncé will be heard playing a character named “Queen Tara”, while Farrell plays “Ronin” and Hutcherson stars as “Nod.”
Chris Wedge, who worked with Fox on Ice Age is directing, while Lori Forte and Jerry Davis are producing.
Other entertainers that will be heard in Epic include Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler, Aziz Ansari, rapper Pitbull, and Jackass star Johnny Knoxville.
Beyoncé’s last appearance on the big screen was in 2009’s Obsessed. She is also known for her role in Dream Girls. The singer and actress has long been rumored to be attached to Clint Eastwood’s version of a A Star is Born.
