A new red-band trailer for Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s upcoming cop movie, Freelancers, has hit the web.
The crime drama film, starring Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker, centers on the son of a slain NYPD officer (50 Cent) who joins the police academy with his two best friends. Upon graduating from the academy, he is taken into the ranks of a Street Vice Task Force by his father’s former partner, Captain Vic Sarcone (De Niro). From there he is sucked deeper into a “rogue task force” headed up by Sarcone.
Freelancers is directed by Jessy Terrero (Soul Plane), while Philippe Casseus penned the script. Randall Emmett and Jackson served as producers via Cheetah Visions, alongside Hedge Fund Films’ George Furla and Eff.
Besides 50 Cent, De Niro, and Whitaker, the cast includes Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives), Beau Garrett (Tron: Legacy), and Malcolm Goodwin (Breakout Kings). The film is scheduled to hit theaters in the fall of 2012.
