President Donald Trump has added another round to his ongoing feud with Hollywood legend Robert De Niro.
The former “Apprentice” host and the two-time Academy Award winner remain locked in a heated celebrity rivalry marked by years of sharp verbal sparring across media appearances and social platforms.
Trump, 80, leads the MAGA Republican movement that currently dominates the federal government. De Niro, 83, is a longtime supporter of the Democratic Party.
That ideological clash predates Trump’s entry into formal politics. The two New York City natives have been publicly beefing since as far back as 2011.

De Niro blasted Trump at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival. He took issue with the wealthy socialite pushing the false birtherism conspiracy theory that then-President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.
Days later, Trump fired back on national television by attacking De Niro’s intelligence. He suggested that “The Godfather Part II” star was “not the brightest bulb on the planet.”
Over the next 15 years, the feud escalated — eventually exploding at the 2018 Tony Awards when De Niro shouted “F**k Trump” from the stage. Trump retaliated days later, branding De Niro as “a very low-IQ individual” and mocking his film roles.
Fast forward to September 2026, the president is still throwing shots at De Niro. Trump took to his Truth Social platform to share an AI-created image of the Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient.

The fake picture shared on Sept. 6 shows a stern-faced De Niro holding up a red T-shirt with the words “Trump Is My President” written on the front.
“Even this jerk is beginning to get it!” stated the tongue-in-cheek Truth Social caption. The post’s wry humor did not land with many of Trump’s most vocal online critics.
One person on X railed against the GOP boss by tweeting, “Trump is so desperate that he’s now using AI to help spread his lies. Robert [De Niro] does NOT support Trump.”
“Nothing says ‘winning’ like needing AI to invent a celebrity endorsement because the real ones keep telling you to shut the f**k up,” read one reply.
Another commenter added, “Trump is a f*****g liar, but we all already knew that.” Additionally, someone on the platform advised, “I hope De Niro sues him.”
With the U.S. midterm elections approaching in two months, one person predicted, “Why do I have a feeling De Niro is going to tear into Trump come November?”
“I’m glad that De Niro got under his skin!” declared a fan who is pleased to see Trump apparently bothered by the famous entertainer’s repeated pushback.
At the same time, an annoyed X user complained, “Prefer a president that could focus on making [the] country better and get his a** off social media.”
The latest online shenanigans boosted speculation that Trump’s right-hand woman in the West Wing, Natalie Harp, is the actual person behind the taunting Truth Social messages.
“Natalie is the human printer. [Trump] can’t come up with this. She does. Anything to get grandpa to sleep and to get away from the old man smell,” an X user proposed.

Whether it is Trump or his special assistant hitting the post button on Truth Social, the desire to “trigger the libs” continues to be a driving force for MAGA.
Trump appears to enjoy goading well-known liberals in Hollywood, like De Niro. The 34-time convicted felon has used artificial intelligence to agitate other celebrities.
One of the most talked-about instances of Trump’s Truth Social page mocking Democratic-leaning public figures happened in July.
De Niro was among the several targets in a 90-second AI-made video shared by the president. Styled like a pharmaceutical commercial, the clip depicted Trump in a white lab coat as a physician “curing” his celebrity critics of what he termed “Trump Derangement Syndrome”.
The phony “Dr. Trump” diagnosed Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Edward Norton, John Leguizamo, and Julia Roberts with the made-up TDS as well.
As the real Trump spends time focusing on his famous critics, political forecasters expect the Republican Party to take a thumping in this year’s midterms.
Meanwhile, De Niro’s latest project, the crime drama “The Whisper Man,” is now streaming on Netflix. He is also starring in the upcoming comedy “Focker-in-Law,” which will arrive in theaters on Nov. 25.
