Small scale fame has come with a twist of irony for Reverend Marvin Winans, known most recently for delivering the eulogy at Whitney Houston’s funeral. Winans was reportedly carjacked in his home city of Detroit last week, and the news made it as far as TMZ. Unfortunately for him, the story has evolved into a case of the bizarre, as the DetroitNews reports that not only should Winans not have been driving; there is currently a warrant out for his arrest.
Before being carjacked by four suspects on May 16th, Winans’ license had been suspended the week prior, on May 9th. The suspension was the result of two missed tickets, one for driving on a suspended license previously, and the other for impeding traffic. After missing his court date, a warrant for Winans arrest was issued in March 15th.
Winans, who is also a Grammy Award-winner, has been served with 11 tickets in the past three years, and has had his license suspended on
