Janet Jackson loves her weight loss, but not the scale. Don’t ask the newly svelte performer how much weight she has lost, she won’t tell you…because she doesn’t know. The “Black Cat” singer refuses to step on a scale.
“I don’t know how much weight I’ve lost, only because I stay away from the scale. I don’t think [stepping on the scale] is healthy. You’re setting yourself up to fail and women’s bodies fluctuate every month – certain time of the month in particular – we bloat a great deal,” the 46-year-old said to People.
As the new spokesperson for NutriSystem, the “Control” singer insists her healthier weight is all on the accounts of the plan which includes eating in moderation and exercise.
“It works, point blank. You don’t have to starve yourself getting there.”
Did Janet allow herself other goodies outside of the system?
“I love caramel apples! NutriSystem doesn’t have that, so that’s probably my cheat food.”
“I go out to dinner with friends [too], but then I just get back on it. It’s about maintenance.”
The “Anytime, Anywhere” singer does push her body and endurance further if she’s gearing up for a performance or tour.
“I work out six days a week. I like to switch it up. I may go for a run or bike.”
Like most women who lead full lives, Janet has been vocal about her body image and struggles pre-NutriSystem.
‘When I’m down or really stressed, I eat because that’s my comfort place. I’ve had a problem with my body image. You need to look at yourself and say, “I like this, I feel good about this. I feel healthy, I feel strong and this is where I want to be.”
Looking good Ms. Jackson!
