Anchorman 2 is definitely happening. A couple of months ago, Will Ferrell let the cat out the bag, announcing plans for the new film while on The Conan O’Brien show.
Now, Paramount has released the first poster for the highly anticipated comedy sequel. The new poster doesn’t reveal much, or anything that hints at the plot of the movie. However, it does show Ron, Brick, Brian, and Champ in retro attire and studio spotlights in the background.
A teaser trailer of Adam McKay’s Anchor Man 2 has been scheduled to show during the previews right before The Dictator. Mckay recently explained how the teaser trailer came about:
“Paramount came to us with the idea of the teaser and since we’re writing the script it was a good chance to see the characters and hang out with the actors to inspire writing. All of the actors (Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner) slipped right into character and they all looked amazing. Paul has a beard and we’re thinking of keeping it. Kind of an Eddie Rabbit meets Serpico look.”
The first Anchor Man grossed $91 million on a $27 million budget.
