Basketball Wives set the tone for the season when viewers saw a clip of Jennifer Williams getting slapped in the face by her former BFF Evelyn Lozada‘s assistant Nia Crooks. Now that the episode has aired Jennifer wants everyone to know she’s suing Nia for the smack down during their January 21st filming. Williams and her attorney Sandford Rubenstein confirmed a press conference is scheduled for Thursday at 11am.Yes, you read correctly.
Minutes after the attack Jennifer shouted Nia isn’t worth suing but the often quiet starlet had a change of heart.
“Violence used against any person is wrong but when a woman hits another woman it sets a horrible example for young girls everywhere,” Williams told the Daily News.
“I choose to use the justice system to fight back.”
Crooks has since defended her actions and offers no apologies to Jennifer who claims to be traumatized.
“I didn’t watch the video for a long time because I lived it,” she said. “It’s disturbing. It’s humiliating. I get anxiety just thinking about it. She hit me with her open hand on my cheek. I’ve never been hit in my life.”
This press conference ought to be interesting. VH1 isn’t named in the lawsuit but perhaps this cause of action will decrease the amount of drama in the future.
