Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Engagement Confirmed

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are finally engaged, after six children and 7 years of dating.

Hollywood Reporter first broke the story on Friday, which was followed up with a confirmation by The Associated Press.

In a statement to HR, Robert Procop — a jewelry designer who worked with Jolie on her “Style of Jolie” collection — confirmed he had designed Jolie’s ring with assistance from Pitt.

Pitt’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, also confirmed the news to The Associated Press in an email Friday.

There isn’t a wedding date yet. The engagement “is a promise for the future”, Pett-Dante said.

Pitt and Jolie have been together since they began a relationship while working on the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The couple have twins, as well as 4 adopted children together. “Their kids are very happy,” said Pett-Dante.

Jolie, 36, was previously married twice. She married British actor Jonny Lee Miller before divorcing in 1999. She then briefly wedded actor Billy Bob Thornton, who she divorced in 2003.

Pitt, 48, was married for 5 years to Jennifer Aniston, who he divorced in 2005.

Jolie won an Oscar for her role in 1999’s Girl, Interrupted, while Pitt was recently nominated for his fourth Academy Award for his role in last year’s Moneyball.

The news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie comes on the heels of rumors that the couple may be sharing the big screen once again in Ridley Scott’s movie The Counselor.
