Nicki Minaj is gunning for Jennifer Lopez‘s spot on American Idol…or not. The ‘Super Bass’ rapper performed her platinum selling hit ‘Starships’ on Thursday night and placed her request for J Lo’s judging chair.
“I was hoping maybe I could come back and be a guest judge,” said Nicki after her performance. “J-Lo, can you scoot over a little bit?”
Lopez quickly responded, “I don’t know if there’s enough room for both of us.”
Of course it was all in jest, Nicki who’s prepping for the April 3rd release of her sophomore album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ has no time for American Idol.
Nicki confirmed to backstage to THR, “No, actually, I love J-Lo. I love what she’s done for pop culture I have nothing but respect for her and we were just joking around. I’m sure I’ll have lots of fun with them when I’m guest judging.”
Could you imagine Nicki in full alter ego mode judging American Idol?!
