Saturday Night Live has added Kate Mckinnon to their roster.
With Kristin Wiig’s future on the show up in the air, SNL has been scouting out new talent to add to the sketch comedy show. Executive producer, Lorne Michaels, had reportedly auditioned a number of performers before deciding Kate Mckinnon was the best fit. Other women that were looked at included Jessica Joy of The Playboy Club, Lauren Lapkus of Are You There Chelsea, and Elaine Carroll of Very Mary-Kate.
The 27-year-old comedian may have to demonstrate her talent as early as next weekend on the episode that will be hosted by Sofia Vergara.
Mckinnon is best known for her role on the first three seasons of the Rosie O’Donnell-produced Big Gay Sketch Show. In one episode, the openly gay actress played a character named Fitzwilliam, a British boy whose only wish was to have a vagina.
