Khloe Kardashian is dropping her connection to PETA, and putting family first. The youngest sister of the Kardashian clan is showing no mercy towards anyone who feels the need to attack her sibling Kim. On Thursday night, while walking down the red carpet at the London Hotel in West Hollywood, Kim Kardashian was in for a unpleasant surprise. An anti-fur activist, revealed as Christina Cho, who has strong ties to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), ran up to the reality star and poured a bag of flour over her hair and clothing.
At the time, Kim laughed it off, but her sisters didn’t find the situation at all funny. Khloe, who took part in an ad campaign posing nude for PETA in 2008, expressed her anger via twitter.
“I wish I was with my sister tonight. I bet you that woman wouldn’t have dared tried a thing.”
Khloe has now taken things a step further, cutting all ties from the animal rights organization. The 27-year-old wrote about the situation Monday on her blog:
“I just received word that the woman responsible has very close ties to PETA, despite PETA publicly stating otherwise. Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behavior.”
“I’ve been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time, but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me. As you all know, I don’t condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that. I am absolutely disgusted by their behavior.”
“I personally don’t wear fur but that doesn’t mean I am going to force my views on anyone else, ESPECIALLY by violating them. … Bullying and harassment is NEVER a solution, and I won’t be a part of any organization that thinks otherwise.”
PETA has already issued a response to Khloe, expressing how they wish she had more of an influence on Kim, but also thanking her for her continuous refusal to wear fur. The statement might as well have said “We don’t care about you Khloe, just stay away from animals, and tell your sister to do the same”.
