New 'Prometheus' IMAX Trailer Reveals More Space Mystery

An amazing new Prometheus trailer has landed online today containing exciting new footage that further unlocks some of the mystery behind the sci-fi film.

Directed by Ridley Scott, Prometheus is conceived as a loosely based prequel to his 1979 science fiction horror film Alien. However, technically, there is no relation to the Alien franchise.  The sci-fi thriller is written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof.  The heavily weighted cast includes Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron.

The IMAX teaser shows a spaceship landing on an alien planet with Idris Elba announcing that he’s speaking as Captain. It’s obvious that there is something dangerous on the planet, but besides a quick glimpse of a space jockey that actually appears to be moving, it’s unclear what kind of alien beings we’ll be seeing in the movie.

Prometheus is scheduled to be released around June 8, 2012. Do you think it will live up to the hype?
