Vin Diesel to Lead ‘Soldiers Of The Sun,’ Possibly His Third Hit Franchise

Vin Diesel has been cast for the lead role of “Soldiers Of The Sun,” setting up yet another possible franchise opportunity for the action star.

“Soldiers Of Sun“ is set in a post-apocalyptic world and focuses on a squad of soldiers that searches for a fabled city of gold while on a tour of duty in Mexico to liberate humanity from an alien race known as Orcs. The film is expected to be franchised, rivaling the successes of two other film franchises that Diesel leads, “Fast and Furious” and “The Chronicles of Riddick.”

Arash Amel, who penned the screenplay for the upcoming Grace Kelly biopic “Grace of Monaco” starring Nicole Kidman, will write the script for “Soldiers Of The Sun.”

Vin Diesel has been very busy this year. In addition to shooting “Fast & Furious 7,” he is set to begin production on “The Last Witch Hunter for Summit,” which will see Diesel star as the last remaining witch hunter who battles against an uprising of witches in modern day New York.  The actor has also entered negotiations with Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
