Update: Nick Lachey has confirmed his wife of just under one year, Vanessa Minnillo is pregnant! Lachey announced the exciting news on “Live! With Kelly” on Monday. The ecstatic daddy-to-be revealed Vanessa found out she was pregnant last month.
“She was in New York and I was in the Bahamas,” Lachey explained on Live!. “She went to the store and got a pregnancy test and it came back positive. We’re having a baby!”
The couple married last July on Richard Branson’s Necker Island after meeting in 2006. Since their marriage both Nick and Vanessa haven’t hid their eagerness to start a family.
“[Babies are] the next natural step,” Vanessa told The Huffington Post in December. “But, God willing, it will happen. It’s not a pressure situation. … The great thing is we have been together for almost six years — five before we got married — and now it’s just enjoying being a newlywed and you never know. It’s what we like to call in the newlywed world ‘fun time.’ So if that is family planning, so be it.”
The news comes just weeks after Vanessa was spotted with a baby bump while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A source tells US Weekly Vanessa is 12 weeks pregnant. Congrats to the couple!
