Nick Lachey Upset Over Drew's Elimination, Vanessa's Post Baby Body

Vanessa Lachey and her husband of nearly two years Nick Lachey were eager to watch Drew Lachey compete in Dancing with the Stars All-Star competition, except they left disappointed. Meanwhile the couple who welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Camden explained the inspiration behind their baby boy’s name.

Nick revealed that his father’s name is John hence the middle name and and he and his Wipeout host wife initially agreed on Colin as the first name but plans quickly changed.

“It’s kind of a funny story. I’ve always liked the name Colin. We thought that Colin would be the name. And John is my dad’s name,” he revealed in a recent interview with People magazine.

“But as we got further into it, I learned that Vanessa wasn’t a big fan of the name Colin, so we started looking for another ‘C’ name.”

In the process of looking for another ‘C’ name the former 98 Degrees singer stumbled across the winner, Camden Drive, the name of the street where Vanessa’s obstetrician’s office is located. “Hey, what about Camden?”

Nick revealed they didn’t know much about the name but fell in love with it quickly. “We didn’t really know anyone else named Camden. It was such a neat name. We fell in love with it and decided on it five or six months ago.” Doesn’t sound like the best story to tell your son as he gets older but Nick insists his baby boy isn’t named after Camden, New Jersey – a less than desirable city.

Meanwhile Nick and Vanessa won’t have any more date nights at the Dancing with the Stars studios in Los Angeles where Nick’s brother Drew Lachey was voted off last night in a shocking double elimination. Prior to the show an excited Vanessa tweeted along with a photo showing off her slimming post baby body,

“Fired up for #DWTS! @thedrewlachey is gonna kill it w/the ChaCha!”

After the elimination however Nick was not a happy camper,

“Can someone convince me that #dwts is actually about the best dancing? What a joke!! You wanna see talent realized, watch @nbcthevoice”

Were you shocked by the results?

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
