Jonah Hill and James Franco will star in the upcoming movie True Story. The film is an adaptation of Michael Finkel’s memoir, which will be made into a facts-based drama.
In the film, Hill will play Finkel, a New York Times Magazine writer who learned that a man named Christian Longo, who was on the FBI’s most wanted list for killing his own family, had been living under his identity. The real Finkel’s boss ends up firing him and his career goes up in smoke.
The story gets even more interesting when Longo, the alleged criminal and identity thief who was captured in Mexico after being on the most wanted list, said the only writer he would talk to was Finkel himself. Hill’s character will visit, phone, and write Longo to learn the truth about the fugitive’s family.
Franco will likely play the part of Longo.
The movie will be produced under Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, and directed by Rupert Goold.
