Rihanna And Chris Brown Reunion Blasted By Domestic Violence Group

UPDATE-Chris Brown and Rihanna silently confirmed loudly on Twitter Monday night that the two have worked on each other’s tracks as featured artists for “Turn Up The Music” and “Birthday Cake” respectively.

“@chrisbrown Turn up the music remix #RihannaNavy #Teambreezy enjoy!!!” the now-blonde Barbados beauty tweeted along with a link to the remix that features her.

After weeks of conjecture, the past-troubled former couple has indeed hopped on remixes for one another and the fans aren’t holding back their feelings on the strategic musical move.

@aggrosantos OMG Rihanna is featuring Chris Brown on her birthday cake Remix!! *bbmshockedface what do you make of that?

Others were not as kind:

While Rebecah Clifton added,
Oprah says it best, ‘If a man lays his hands on a woman in anger, he WILL do it again’. Try to make something racist out of that. Rihanna is disrespecting herself by taking part in any collaboration with this creature. When he struck her, he showed the kind of human he is at the core of his being. I’d love to see Brown disappear from public life, he’s not very talented, anyway.

On the Rihanna’s Internz/The-Dream produced record, “Birthday Cake,”   Breezy add his verse to the track that many could take as personal accounts especially since all of the alleged hookup rumors as of late.

“Girl I wanna [expletive] you right now. Been a long time I been missing your body” Brown sings on the remix. “Lemme, lemme turn the lights down. When I, when I go down it’s a private party.”

And Rihanna’s accompanied rap doesn’t put the rumors to sleep either:

“Remember how you did it, remember how you did it. If you still wanna kiss it, come come and get it. Put a candle on my muthaf-ckin back, baby blow it. Daddy make a wish, put this cake in your face…”

Not surprisingly Rihanna And Chris Brown’s reunion is received kindly by  Rita Smith, the executive director for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She told MTV News,

“I guess I’m not particularly surprised given the rumors that had gone on around this, and it’s also not surprising because many victims get back with their abusers, even after an assault. They love them, they think they change, and abusers are particularly good at convincing you they’ve changed. I don’t know what their relationship is at this point, but I’m not surprised that she’s staying connected.”

Smith added,

“I don’t know what the message is. I would like the message to be: People can change, and I will never be treated that way again and I will never treat anyone that way again. If they had released a song saying this is what this represents for us, that would be such a much more fabulous, powerful story than not saying a word. The content of the songs seems to be more in-your-face than something about ‘we’re collaborating on something because we care about the way people treat each other.’ That would have been the message that would have been nice to come out of this very public and tragic incident.”

Would Rihanna and Chris have sent a stronger/better message with a less sexually explicit song?
