Nicki Minaj Reduced To Cheerleading In Madonna’s ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ Video

Madonna just-released Give Me All Your Luvin video is layered with ambiguous and apparent themes, but the most clear-cut, jarring cue is the role superstar Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. are executing throughout the showy production—Cheerleaders! The ‘Super Bass’ rapper along with the ‘Paper Planes’ rapper are practically personal, backdrop flunkies who happen to rap, briefly I might add— and ‘luv Madonna’.

After the opening clip: “Fans can make you famous, a contract can make you rich, the press can make you a superstar, but only luv can make you a player,” the narcissism commences fiercely. Minaj and M.I.A appear in cheerleader outfits with pom-poms awaiting the Madge to make her grand emergence as she knocks a pink door in.

Seconds later as gold glitter rains, she shed   her trench coat with the help of faceless NFL players, revealing a black, snugged romper-leotard that exposes a leopard bra once a while throughout the nearly 4 minute homage. Madonna is then lifted through a window into another era where she reminds viewers of the earlier versions of her career. As if the cheering of love for her majesty wasn’t enough, she had the feature rappers donned in ‘Like A Virgin’ getups as well:   think short, platinum blonde wigs, white, lacey numbers, and punchbowl red lips.

This is where Nicki and M.I.A. were privy to rap their verses, but not without the camera swaying back to Madonna to remind whose video they were in.

Another obvious theme throughout the video was not-so-coy references to her upcoming performance at halftime performance at XLVI Super Bowlwhere she is set to share the stage with Minaj and M.I.A. The video ends with Madonna tossing a baby doll to the side the final message flashes across the screen: “Touchdown!”

Madonna’s latest studio album, ‘MDNA’, will be available in March.
