Nicki Minaj’s ‘Stupid Hoe’ which many consider a diss track to Lil Kim is making more surprising moves. Despite damming reviews by music critics and fans, ‘Stupid Hoe’ consistently rises to the challenge. Nicki’s teaser to ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” broke a Vevo record and now according to the UK Charts, via That Grape Juice, ‘Stupid Hoe’ climbed from no. 93 in it’s first week to 19 – that’s 74 spots!!
Sam Lansky of MTV didn’t find the lyrics very amusing,
“Cuz these hoes so busted/Hoes is so crusty/These bitches is my sons/And I don’t want custody.” It’s hard to get behind the use of the word “crusty” in any song, ever, and at the risk of sounding pedantic, well, rhyming it with “custody” in a clumsy verse isn’t going to endear us to that verse any further. And when you insist “You a stupid hoe” upwards of 40 times in a three-and-a-half-minute song, that fourth wall begins to collapse for me and I start to take it a little personal.”
Again despite the reviews and 264,644 dislikes and 126,450 likes, Nicki Minaj ‘s Stupid Hoe is on it’s way to being another hit – surprised by it’s success?
