It has been a long road for George Lucas in bringing to life the epic WWII film ‘Red Tails’ to theaters. Lucas went up against colleagues for years who opposed making the film with the belief that nobody would be interested in seeing a movie about African American soldiers, starring African American actors.
Even now it appears that for some, accepting African Americans as an important part of American history is a hard pill to swallow. However, through Lucas’s perseverance and sheer determination to tell this very important story in American history, Red Tails hits theaters this week.
Directed by Anthony Hemingway from the hit show ‘The Wire’, ‘Red Tails’ will be in theaters nation-wide this Friday January 20th.
Comingsoon.net briefly sat down with the cast of ‘Red Tails’ including Terrance Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr. Nate Parker, Elijah Kelley, Tristan Wilds, and Ne-Yo to ask some quick questions regarding their point of view of the film.
