Serena Williams To Blame For Common And Drake’s Rap Beef?

Serena Williams is being blamed for sparking the first rap beef of 2012 between veteran rapper Common and newbie Drake. It wouldn’t be the first time a beautiful woman has come between good men. Rapper Common and Drake are engaged in a back and fourth that began when Common dropped a few lines geared towards Drake in ‘Sweet’.

“Y’all soft motherf—kers, singing all around me man, la la la/ You ain’t motherf—kin’ Frank Sinatra/Uh, lil’ b*tch…Sweet Ass Muthaf*cker”

Earlier this week Drake responded while dropping a verse on ‘Stay Schemin’ from Rick Ross’ new mixtape ‘Rich Forever’.

“Back when if a nigga reached it was for the weapon/Nowadays niggas reach just to sell their record.”

Oh did we forget to mention Common recently dropped his ninth studio album ‘The Dreamer/The Believer’? But when was the last time Common sparked controversy to sell a few more albums?? Here’s where Serena comes in.

Serena and Common dated for nearly three years before ending their relationship in 2010. Last year Drake was spotted getting close to Serena during the US Open. In a an interview with Complex, Drake gushed about his love for Serena,

“I really, really love and care for Serena Williams,” he said. “She’s definitely in my life and I’m in her life.”

Common who revealed he wasn’t quite over Serena when he rapped about their relationship in ‘Love Lost’ from his latest album, may have been rubbed the wrong way by the Drake and Serena’s relationship.

What do you think – is Serena to blame for this rap beef?
