Kim Kardashian Family Forced To Discus Sweatshop Scandals

Kim Kardashian and her family were recently accused of endorsing and selling fashion products manufactured in foreign sweatshops, where workers, some as young as sixteen years old, are abused and virtually imprisoned.

“The Kardashians are in bed with some pretty bad people,” Charles Kernaghan, the executive director of the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, tells Radaronline.   “Not only are celebrities like the Kardashians taking advantage of these workers, they are holding hands with a government that spits on democracy and women’s rights.”

According to Huffingtonpost.com, the Kardashian collections under suspicion include their high-end K-Dash clothing line, Kris Jenner’s Kollection For QVC and ShoeDazzle, a company Kim founded and for which Perez Hilton has also designed. The alleged misdoings apparently do not relate to their Sears line.

Kris Jenner, the families matriarch recently got a little advice from Kathie Lee Gifford about her family’s sweatshop scandal, according to Gather.com. Kathie Lee Gifford, who faced a similar scandal in 1996 when it was revealed that sweatshops were producing some of her Wal-Mart products, called her very good friend, Kris Jenner, after the allegations surfaced to consult her on how to handle the scandal. Despite the conversation with Gifford, the Kardashians continue to deny the allegations but without offering any proof that they actually know what is going on in their own factories.
