Jessica Simpson $3M Weight Watchers Deal Draws Criticism

UPDATE-Jessica Simpson may have failed in her attempt to land a big pay out for her pregnancy photos but she managed to snag a $3 million deal with Weight Watchers before even giving birth!! It appears the race for the most popular spokesperson is on! Mariah Carey has been flaunting her post baby curves all thanks to Jenny Craig or Jenny (they’re more hip name). Jennifer Hudson‘s still representing Weight Watchers and even released a new book about her weight loss journey. So Jessica’s new endorsement doesn’t seem far fetched except for the fact that she’s still pregnant! Perhaps it’s because Simpson has publicly struggled with her weight and is being proactive. Though she told Lucky magazine last month:

“I got so much scrutiny for putting on extra pounds, but I think that the decision not to make myself anorexic was actually great for branding,” she says. “Because when you’re really, really skinny, not everybody can relate to you.”

EW Popwatch wasn’t all to please about the news criticizing Jessica for her message to new moms: “All credit to Simpson for taking back control of her body, but … What message does this sprint back to her pre-baby body send to other new moms?”

We can imagine Jessica is caught between a rock and a hard place here. But perhaps an even more sane reason for the rush to drop the pounds: her wedding to Eric Johnson. After Simpson confirmed her pregnancy she also revealed the wedding will come after.

A source told the New York Post, “The deal is in place, and after having her baby, she’ll start with Weight Watchers to lose her baby weight.”

    Just wanted to say Im a frequent visitor here , and always interested in your posts.
    If it wasnt for you I my knowledge on this topic wouldnt be so tremendous.
    Now back to the topic. Me , Im personally a health freak. I need to go to the gym everyday. No matter the situation. I also like to eat what I want so that explains why I go everyday. But all of these programs and pills is complete and utterly B.S! Honestly to everyone take my words. Get out there excerise and become more physically active because trying a diet or a pill wont any solve anything. I have seen diets where people starve themselves to lose weight only to gain in back the next month. Take my advice people Just excerise daily even if its for 15-30 minutes a day. It really can help!
