‘House Of Payne’ Writers To Get Raises For Creative Abilities?

Christmas strikes again, well with a little bit of picketing and tough talk. Down in the south, at Tyler Perry Studios, The Writers Guild of America has reached an agreement on a new contract for the writers of ‘House of Payne.’

Back in 2006, TBS launched an unprecedented 100-episode order that was slated to air the following year, a task that would be blinding for any team of writers. Imagine how hard it is for this team of seven writers to deliver 100 episodes, but do they deserves all of this?

These are the gifts Santa Perry was forced to leave for the writers in their chimney socks: A 15 % increase in minimum weekly salaries, 20% minimum increase for scripts and  a 20% increase in residual payments.

Seems like Perry has a history of being a scrooge, earlier this year in May, Perry had to deal with employees attempting to unionize and protest at the opening of Perry’s studio facilities in Atlanta Georgia. Ultimately leading to a dramatic deal being reached between the WGA and Perry.

Do the writers deserve a raise?

Tyler Perry Studios in know for producing shows on TBS such as ‘House Of Payne,’ ‘Meet The Browns,’ and the most recent ‘For Better For Worse’ starring Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith that airs every Friday at 10pm.

Earlier this year, Tyler Perry was recognized as the highest paid man in Hollywood.
