UPDATE-A Pregnant Beyonce finally reveals her wedding dress while the Kardashian boycott petition grows to 100, 000 signatures!!
Looks like some members of the public have had enough of all things Kim Kardashian and the remaining Kardashian clan. A woman named Cyndy Snider has persuaded 11,000 others to join her in signing a petition requesting E! TV to remove all Kardashian-connected reality shows from its network because Snider claims they may be harmful to young viewers.
Here is an excerpt from the petition, which was posted on GoPetition.com earlier this month:
“We feel that these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption…While some may have begun watching the spectacle as mindless entertainment or as a sort of ‘reality satire,’ it is a sad truth that many young people are looking up to this family and are modeling their appearance and behavior after them.”
Director Tyler Perry has also caught a whiff of this anti-Kardashian fervor, as he ignited a barrage of criticism across the web and particularly on his website regarding his decision to cast Kim Kardashian in his next movie.
However, despite Snider’s efforts and those of her more than 11,000 followers, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” remains one of E!’s highest-rated shows. The network’s broadcast of Kim’s wedding to Kris Humphries brought in more than 10.5 million viewers. Now that Kim has filed for divorce, you can expect many viewers to tune in to the next season simply to find out what might happen next.
The Kardashians are basically a cash cow for E! TV, so don’t hold your breath waiting for the axing of the Kardashian line-up. As with many of the reality shows on the air, watching the Kardashian family antics is like witnessing a bad accident–you know it’s wrong to look but you’re still drawn to the flames.
Snider concluded her petition by stating that she was neither politically nor religiously motivated by her request; she and other viewers had simply had enough and wanted the televised ruse to stop.
“We are just finally fed up,” the petition states.
So what do you think? Are you equally fed up with the Kardashian brand? Or are you drawn to the mayhem like millions of other viewers?
In other more delightful news, Beyonce, six months pregnant, has finally decided to unveil her wedding dress from her April 2008 wedding to Jay-Z. While performing ‘I Was Here’ Beyonce shows several clips of her life as a young ambitious girl to a full blown pop star. The clips are a testament to just how much this woman has accomplished in her 30 years of living and of course a very short clip of her glowing on her wedding day.
Enjoy….
