Rihanna‘s self described pop pact continues to dominate music as the three ladies: Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry grabbed three American Music Awards nominations. Of course there are other artists, namely Adele who has yet to use any of the gimmicks of the pop pact. She remains in the top 3 on Billboard Top 200 chart for 32 out of the 33 weeks since the release of 21 – Wow. For that effort, Adele nabbed four nominations.
Rapper Lil Wayne and country pop singer Taylor Swift also grabbed three nominations.
Adele, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift will all battle for the Artist of the Year award.
Nicki Minaj who announced the nominees earlier today grabbed two nominations.
The 2011 American Music Awards will air live in Los Angeles on November 20th at 8pm on ABC.
