Comedian Sinbad is weighing in on the fallout following the accusations of sexual assault and molestation against Bill Cosby in the wake of his verdict.
Cosby, who rose to TV superstardom as Cliff Huxtable on “The Cosby Show,” was found guilty Thursday, April 26 on three counts of aggravated indecent assault. He faces up to 10 years in prison for each count.
That Friday, Sinbad discussed the response to Cosby’s accusations from more than 60 women who said the veteran comic drugged and molested them.
“When you know somebody, it’s hard to even see that. But to stop the reruns, that means you need to quit buying albums of all these people [who] messed up,” he tells “Windy City Live” April 27. “That means there’s a lot more shows they’re gon have to pull, that means there’s networks they’re gon have to pull. So if you’re gon do that with him, then you gotta look at everything.”
Sinbad added that the verdict “messed me up” and lamented the fact that the current generation would only know Cosby as a convicted sex criminal.
“All that he did, now, if you get rid of the shows, act like it never happened — they took his doctorates from him, they took the name of the [Central State University] building off but didn’t give the money back,” he adds. “Take it all back. We not gon do the reruns, take the money back. Networks, give that money back. All the money you’ve made from ‘The Cosby Show,’ give that back. Give that to women’s causes. If you really wanna go there, then go all the way there.”
In the YouTube comments, several viewers eagerly backed up Sinbad.

“This is a damn shame what they are doing to Bill Cosby. These women should [have] came out years ago,” said another. “They just want money and are going to ruin a man that gave joy to many like myself.”
