Star Island, Miami Beach

Star Island is an exclusive neighborhood in the city of Miami Beach, on a man-made island in Biscayne Bay, Florida. At the southern tip of the country, big shots like rock star Lenny Kravitz, rap mogul P.Diddy, and retired basketball player Shaquille O’Neal, all owned homes in this secluded getaway on the water.

Houses on the island are valued between $19.9 million and $40 million, and the average listing price is $27.6 million, according to several real estate companies online.

“In Miami, celebrities buy homes on these islands to be on the water and because they’re close to, but not in, South Beach,” says Nelson Gonzalez, a broker with Esslinger Wooten Maxwell Realty. “They can go have dinner and be crazy if they want to be crazy, and then they can go home and sleep in peace.”
