The first trailer for Marvel’s “X-Men Days of Future Past“ has debuted online, showing Professor Xavier and the rest of the team working together with their younger selves.
The trailer reveals that time travel is at the heart of the plot, as Professor X(Patrick Stewart) instructs Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) back in time to wrangle the younger Xavier (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) into working together.
“Find me, lead me, guide me,” Xavier tells Wolverine. “Be patient.”
“Patience isn’t my strongest suit,” Wolverine replies.
Viewers will get a quick look at French actor Omar Sy as Bishop in his American film debut. Bishop first appeared in the X-books in the early ’90s. In his original incarnation, he was a mutant policeman who traveled back from the future to save the X-Men from calamity.
Halle Berry is back as Storm. Jennifer Lawrence sheds a blue tear as Mystique and there’s a first look of Warpath played by Booboo Stewart.
At the heart of the film, though, is the most popular X-Man of all, Jackman’s Wolverine. This will mark his seventh time he has played the adamantium-clawed character and he’s looking older compared to the other films.
The trailer is heavy on the character development because most of the visual-effects work is not complete.
