After several “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ set photos were leaked online, Sony Pictures has officially released the first footage for the sequel, just in time for Comic Con 2013.
The brief clip features one of Spider-Man’s new villains, Electro, played by Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx. In the film, Electro the alter ego of Max Dillon, a mild-mannered man who becomes a supervillain after being struck by lightning.
The new footage shows Foxx appearing menacing, his blue skin lighting up. “You want to know how powerful I am?” he whispers in the clip. “Well, I want to know too.”
The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which also stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Paul Giamatti, is expected to have its first trailer release Friday to kick off Comic Con in San Diego.
