Jay-Z, Drake Making Music: ‘Be Very Afraid’

The last time Jay-Z and Drake hopped on a track together on was in 2010, when Hov gave Drizzy some veteran advice on how to handle beef on “Light Up.” “Drake, here’s how they gon’ come at you/ With silly rap feuds, tryin’ to distract you,” Jigga rapped on the track which was featured on the OVO star’s debut LP.

Well, the two rap stars were back in the studio again on Saturday night, and there’s no telling what topics they will touch, or where the music will ultimately end up. Def Jam A&R executive Lenny Santiago didn’t give many details when he shared an Instagram photo of the two MCs side by side in the studio, but he did say this much: “Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we’re working on. OVO x ROCNATION.”

What we do know is that Drake is gearing up to release his third LP Nothing Was the Same later this year and there is a strong possibility that Hov may release his 12th solo album before 2013 is over. Aside from “Light Up,” Hov and Drake only have one other work together, “Off That,” a Timbaland-produced track from Jay’s last album 2009’s The Blueprint III.

Last week, Santiago captured a photo of Jay and Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon in the studio and confirmed that they had something cooking. “We workin on Real Rap (expletive) over here. JAY x RAE #RocNation #Wu,” he wrote.
