Halle Berry Reveals Return to ‘X-Men’ on ‘Tonight Show’

Halle Berry stopped in to talk with “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno Monday night, and announced her return to the X-Men franchise. The appearance was a part of Berry’s promotion tour for her latest film, The Call, hitting theaters on Friday. The X-Men news, however, was an unexpected bombshell. Berry was rumored to be one of the cat members from the original X-Men trilogy returning to the new prequel,  X-Men: Days of Future Past, along with Ian Mckellen, Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman.

“It’s a great role, and those residual checks don’t hurt!” Berry told Leno. “It’s a character that I love and fans really love the whole series. They really love Storm and it’s like family. It’s fun to get back together with [Hugh Jackman] and everybody. It’s good fun.”

As the conversation turned from movies to fashion and cars, Berry shared details of her dress selection for the recent Academy Awards ceremony. She said that the Versace gown she ordered fit perfectly on arrival. When speaking to Donatella Versace, Berry said she requested that her dress look like one a Bond girl would wear.

“We told her that I wanted to go to the Oscars as a Bond girl, like, if a Bond girl would go in 2013,” Berry said. “I felt like I was — you’ll appreciate this — wearing a Ferrari,” she added, playing on Leno’s love for luxury cars.

During an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Berry and her co-star in The Call,  Morris Chestnut, discussed playing lovers on the set of the suspense thriller.

“I think most of the women in the world — and maybe a few men — would think I was the lucky one, since I get to kiss Morris Chestnut,” she said.

When asked for the details, she added, “That’s for me to know.”
