Talib Kweli will release his much anticipated LP Prisoner of Conscious later this spring but, in the meantime, he’s dropped a video for the single Upper Echelon, featuring a cameo appearance by Black Star band mate Yasiin Bey, formerly Mos Def, and another by comedian Affion Crockett.
The new track was produced by Harry Fraud with the trippy video helmed by Fredo Tovar.
The single is a bit of a switch-up with Kweli flowing over synth beats and, to be honest, not everyone is feeling it, but Kweli delivers on it in his customary way.
Prisoner of Conscious is currently scheduled for an April 23 release date.
