Popular Critic wants to be among the first to wish Vince Herbert and Tamar Braxton congratulations on their pregnancy. For all you ‘Braxton Family Values” fans, you’ll have another element to watch with Tamar’s outrageous behavior this season. The writers at ‘The Young, Black and Fabulous’ (TheYBF) put Tamar on ‘baby bump’ watch a few weeks ago and apparently they were right. Mrs. Herbert shared her big news this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America (GMA).
If pregnant Tamar is anything like everyday Tamar, then she will definitely be one to watch. She is one of five sisters, with the most famous being her Grammy-Award winning sibling Toni Braxton. While Toni might have been the most recognizable sister before their reality show took off, however Tamar certainly set herself apart from her sisters with her fiery attitude and ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ tone.
Fans have chronicled her rise to fame through the wildly successful reality show ‘Braxton Family Values’ and ‘Tamar and Vince’ on WEtv; that rise includes a hit R&B song ‘Love & War.’ Her husband Vince has helped guide her career through some rough patches, including one stint where Braxton sought to pattern her look and sound after his superstar artist Lady Gaga. Thankfully, Vince convinced his wife to develop a sound that’s uniquely her own. Her fans have approved, and so did Lady Gaga. She even asked her ‘monster’ fans to support Tamar’s single, which sent ‘Love & War’ to the top of the iTunes charts.
Now, the R&B star is preparing for the biggest role of her life as a mother. She told GMA’s Lara Spencer, “I have a love on top! I am pregnant! I feel great and greedy at the same time. This is the most I’ve eaten ever… I don’t have that many months to go. Almost there!” How the usually public Tamar managed to keep her pregnancy a secret for this long is amazing.
On her reality show, ‘Braxton Family Values’ fans watched as Tamar came to terms with her husband’s mortality after a blood clot in his lungs sent his health into a state of peril. As his recovery unfolded, Mrs. Herbert realized that she wanted to be a mother. However, it was revealed that she might have trouble getting pregnant. The star gave an interview with ‘Black Voices‘ from the Huffington Post and had this to say about her attempt at pregnancy at motherhood:
“Honestly, I definitely want to do that,” and “…I wouldn’t have gone through the whole IVF process if I didn’t want to do that. It’s just that the hormones were so much at one time. Looking back on it, I kind of wish that I was in the right frame of mind, because I would’ve done it right then and there.”
Tamar took the time to produce and finish her album instead of finishing the treatments. However, the thought about motherhood couldn’t have been too far out of her and her husband’s mind as they are now expecting their first child. Congratulations to the happy couple. Tune into ‘Braxton Family Values’ on WEtv to see Tamar and the rest of the Braxton clan tomorrow at 9pm EST.
