Rihanna Uses Personal Photos for Cover Art on Latest Singles

Rihanna has released the cover art for her next two upcoming singles off Unapologetic, “Pour it Up” and “Stay”.  In perhaps another indication of the singer’s haphazard approach to public relations, she has chosen to use personal and controversial images for the cover art.

The cover for “Pour it Up” looks like a snapshot from the singer’s Instagram account, featuring the singer wearing a baseball cap and holding a large drink in her hand. The black and red coloring could easily be deemed the “Rihanna filter”.

“Stay,” features a photo even more personal and controversial. In the image, Rihanna rests her head on a man’s shoulder. A man that appears to be on-and-off flame Chris Brown. This move is characteristically Rihanna, who blows hot and cold on even acknowledging Brown’s presence in her life.

Earlier this month, she walked out of her Complex Magazine interview after Brown’s name came up. The reporter made the mistake of asking her about their on-and-off relationship and their recent collaboration “Nobody’s Business.” As soon as Brown was mentioned, Rihanna reportedly gathered her stuff and left the room, retorting:  “It’s a fun record that The-Dream wrote and we loved the lyrics. You’re still asking me questions about it so clearly you don’t know.”

The (partial) Complex interview hits shelves this week, along with seven different covers featuring Rihanna.

Rihanna is also gearing up for her London Fashion week debut in February.  She will unveil the first collection off her River Island line. “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time,” Rihanna said in a statement at the time. “River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family-run business also really appealed to me.”

River Island will make its runway debut on February 16 and will hit stores on March 5.
