“The Green Mile” star, Michael Clarke Duncan, passed away suddenly on Monday in the midst of planning to start a family and have a wedding with secret fiancé Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth.
It was back in July that the gentle giant, Michael Clarke Duncan, was hospitalized after going into cardiac arrest. Stallworth discovered her fiancé at 2 a.m. and managed to perform CPR to resuscitate him until paramedics arrived. Duncan had been hospitalized since July 13 and a sudden turn for the worse means that Stallworth’s plans for a wedding will be pushed aside to make plans for a funeral instead.
“I am devastated,” Stallworth told RadarOnline on Monday. “He was the love of my life.”
The Hollywood couple’s relationship was never brought into the spotlight until late January when Michael appeared on the “The Talk” and shared some intimate details about his love life with the former Apprentice star.
Although Duncan was never shy about sharing the details of their relationship, the couple did agree to keep their wedding plans out of the media’s eye. After Duncan’s death, however, TMZ has revealed that the two had been secretly engaged and planned to be married in January.
A rep for Manigault-Stallworth revealed that the couple’s romance sparked when they first met in a Whole Foods grocery store, and the two seemed to be madly in love ever since.
Duncan’s fiancé is not the only person mourning the tragic loss of the Oscar-nominated actor. Many celebrities took to Twitter to show their sorrow for the loss of “Big Mike” and their support for Omarosa during this tragic loss.
“Rip Michael Clarke Duncan. We shared sum great times,” Niecy Nash tweeted after hearing off her friend’s sudden death. “C u on the other side friend… @OMOROSA praying 4 u & the fam.”
Duncan’s “The Green Mile” co-star, Tom Hanks, also expressed his sorrows via Twitter.
“I am terribly saddened by the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of ‘The Green Mile.’ He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned.”
Both private and public memorials are currently being planned for Duncan.
UPDATE: New details have emerged on Michael’s cause of death. Reportedly the actor was without oxygen for five minutes following the heart attack back in July. The five minute lapse was reportedly enough time to cause irreparable damage. Over the next month Michael’s vitals organs began shutting down.
