Amber Riley Responds To Shocking Red Carpet Collapse

Amber Riley collapsed on the red carpet for an Academy screening of “Glee” at the Leonard Goldenson Theater in Hollywood on Tuesday.

The musical comedy breakout star that plays Mercedes on the hit show collapsed after she fainted while taking part in press interviews.

“Hey guys, I’m okay :),” she tweeted to concerned fans. “I got a little dizzy from all the photog flashes! You’d think I’d be used to it by now, still a red carpet amateur I guess. Gonna get checked out but I feel fine. Thank you for all the concern and well wishes.”

An episode that could have been embarrassing stayed tactful thanks to the respectful photographers.

“I’d also like to thank the photographers for being so professional and not taking photos of me on the ground. I truly truly appreciate it. Could have been super embarrassing.”

Amber responding to some criticism she received over possible health issues,

“Let me stop the rumor mill right now,” she wrote. “I’m not pregnant! Yes I’m black but I don’t have diabetes, I don’t starve myself to fit clothes; I buy clothes to fit ME not vice versa, I DO NOT DIET; I eat right and exercise! I love myself waaaay more than I like my career. I would never ever put myself in harm’s way to mirror any ‘image.’ Come on [people]. Get a life. I did get a great laugh this morning reading all the BS though lol.”

Perhaps the 26-year-old was a little overwhelmed and her moment of light headiness isn’t health related. The talented singer revealed earlier this year to People magazine that she was turning over a new leaf with a healthier diet.

“I decided I was going to make a change and eat healthier,” she said explaining that fast food and burgers gave her chronic stomach pains. “I dropped two dress sizes! I’m a lot more comfortable in dresses, especially gowns.”
