Kanye West wants to emulate Jay-Z in more ways than one. Kim Kardashian would be his Beyonce according to reports and that would make Kanye and Kim one powerful couple. But unlike the highly respected 10-year relationship of Jay-Z and Beyonce, is ‘Ye and Kim only in this for business?
Easily touted as a fashion couple. The rapper turned designer expertly balances his sharp rhymes on ‘Theraflu’ newly named ‘Way Too Cold’ to premiering his second women’s collection at Paris Fashion Week. Kim is no slouch in the fashion department with a too many Kardashian products in the marketplace to keep count. But could there be a joint venture or just the idea of their coupling will bring more attention to their individual ventures.
What about the thirst for attention? West may have voluntarily stepped away from the flashing lights following a series of unfortunate events but he’s back and Kim, well since her “tape” hasn’t left center stage.
There is one downside to Kimye – the public in general and the president of the United States dislike them both! When news broke last year of a potential relationship experts weighed in.
“We are starting out with two individuals with the deck stacked against them, and when you put the two of them together, they will be a turn off to the majority of the audience,” Fox News quoted Steven Levitt, the President of Marketing Evaluations as saying. Yikes!
So are Kanye and Kim in this for the attention and business opportunities? If so, will it work if the cards are already stacked against them? Our opinion: we think the kids actually like each other but their public personas won’t allow it to happen. Like Katy Perry says, ‘In Another Life’.
