Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is no stranger to stressful situations. However, if juggling a television series, clothing store and upcoming wedding weren’t enough, it now appears she will have to add psoriasis to her plate.
Psoriasis is a very serious skin disorder which affects millions of individuals in the US and is generally characterized by red, flaky patches.
Unfortunately for Kim, she is now one of the clubs most famous members. While revealing her condition on a recent episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, Kim was visibly distraught regarding the affects the condition would have on her career.
Kim, whose career is primarily composed of ad campaigns and photo shoots, expressed her fears by explaining to her physician that she couldn’t afford to have such a visible skin condition.
“People don’t understand the pressure on me to look perfect. When I gain a pound, it’s in the headlines, so imagine what the tabloids will do to me when they see all these spots.”
Kim’s doctor explained that although the condition is incurable, there are a variety of options that make it more than manageable. According to Dr. Emmy Graber, assistant professor of dermatology at BU School of Medicine, in addition to topical medicines, exposure to ultraviolet light can help.
This is good news for Kim. With a wedding just around the corner the last thing the reality star wants to worry about is a skin disorder.
But seriously, the series is filmed in advance and Kim has since been spotted out looking her usual self — something tells us this won’t stop the Kardashian money-making machine one bit.
