It has been a year since a video game streamer delivered a takedown to end all takedowns.
Tamo, @narratamo online, endured slurs during a livestream. And his clapback was a master class in how to dismantle a racist. The little-known streamer, who loves sharing music and opening Pokémon packs on his channel, suddenly shot to fame after his video hit 50 million views.
Now, fans are flocking back to the clip to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

“Anyone came back here in 2026? Or is it just me?” one person asked on TikTok, to which another replied, “I come back here every so often for motivation.” Another quipped, “Never skip a hopecore video,” followed by “I love this level of serving FAFO.”
It all started in August 2025, when Tamo was showing off his Pokémon haul. An anonymous viewer asked for help appraising the worth of his own cards, and when Tamo asked him to read off the numbers at the bottom, the man spelled out, “It’s a N-*-*-G-E-R.” In his follow-up, Tamo said the man repeated the derogatory term “over and over again.”
Tamo set the takedown to Kendrick Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams” instrumental, and he calmly said he had identified the man as a U.S. Navy sailor and was forwarding evidence to the naval inspector general. He said he could send clips to the Black sailors on the man’s ship, and even contact his church.
“Guess what? You’re going to get kicked out of the United States Navy,” he began. “You know how they tell us we should be careful what we do on social media ’cause there could be real-life consequences? Hi, my name’s Real Life Consequence.”
While Tamo didn’t disclose his methods, his background-checking skills seemed FBI-worthy. He claimed he knew the man’s disciplinary history, the Texas town he lived in, and other personal details.
In the much-quoted ending, he said: “When you’re working the graveyard shift at the Amazon warehouse… and the teenager who still has his life ahead of him says ‘what are you doing here?’ tell him the truth. Tell him about me.”
A year later, there’s been no public confirmation of whether he was disciplined or lost his position; military personnel actions aren’t always made public, so the absence of news isn’t evidence either way.
New people are discovering the video every day. As one person wrote in an Aug. 13 Threads post: “Are we clocking this? Racism is bad for your health, finances, and quality of life! Be smart or be outed by the smart one… he got you! What a meal!”
