Undefeated boxing champion and gold medalist Claressa Shields does not back down from a fight in the ring, and it appears that attitude extends to social media.
Shields threatened to fight the sister, known online as “BroRilla,” of rapper GloRilla after BroRilla attacked the boxer’s appearance in a series of videos posted on Instagram, including a comparison of Shields to tennis legend Serena Williams.
“Claressa Shields irritates the f—k out of me,” BroRilla said about the boxer, who is preparing to fight in a middleweight title bout versus Kaye Scott in Atlanta on Saturday. “Who told you you was a bad-ass b—h? Like, you look like Serena Williams.”
BroRilla also called out Shields for sometimes choosing to argue with people online in order to defend her relationship with boyfriend and rapper Papoose; Shields then responded with a violent threat.
“I’m a come to Memphis and beat your ass, b—h,” Shields said. “I’m getting ready to lose weight (for my fight) and you want to f—k with me? I’m about to come to Memphis and beat you the f—k up. Call the police.”
The relationship between Shields and Papoose often makes headlines due to Papoose’s current divorce proceedings with fellow rapper Remy Ma. The divorce saga began in 2025 when Papoose reportedly filed paperwork, although he and Shields began dating in 2024 after he and Remy Ma split amid allegations she cheated on him.
Remy Ma also released a song called “Wanna Go” on Friday, as fans speculated the track sent shots at Shields and Papoose. BroRilla may be a fan of the new release due to her current dispute with the boxer.
“Got get your one with Remy Ma first cause (Papoose) still want her,” BroRilla told Shields about her threat to fight. “You come to Memphis, you’re not gonna make it out.”

About six months ago, BroRilla, real name Victoria Woods, went viral and gained a following on social media after attacking GloRilla for not financially supporting her lifestyle and sending money to other family members. The rapper quickly disputed the claims from her estranged sister, but BroRilla used the notoriety from the dispute to promote herself online.
Shields, who currently has an unblemished 18-0 professional record, is attempting to beat Kaye for the unified middleweight WBA and WBC titles on Saturday. In an attempt to gain more titles, Shields is switching weight classes after fighting in the heavyweight division for her last four fights.
Papoose and Shields are expected to celebrate their two-year dating anniversary next month.
BroRilla chose to send a follow-up response on her Instagram story after initially comparing Shields’ appearance to Williams.
“(Serena Williams) I apologize,” she wrote.
