Apollo Nida threw shots at his ex-wife Phaedra Parks following his brief return on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” on Aug. 28. Nida, Parks and their family were a part of the hit Bravo series from 2010 to 2017.
Nida’s hostility stemmed from Parks’ refusal to support him while facing legal woes in 2014. In May 2014, the former reality star pleaded guilty to bank, mail and wire fraud as he was painted out to be the mastermind behind an identity theft scheme and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Following his conviction, Parks filed for divorce in October of that same year. Nida was ultimately released in 2019, after spending five years in prison.
During the “RHOA” episode, cast member Shereé Whitfield disclosed that she was meeting with Nida for relationship advice following her split with Tyrone Gilliams. While catching up with Nida, Whitfield asked him how he had been holding up since being home.
Nida said, while bringing up Parks, “It was a little rough. When my ex left me, she left me basically to die. Phaedra left me to basically rot.”
When Whitfield asked why Nida felt that way, Nida expressed that Parks’ refusal to support him during the case and not allow him to see his two children showed him that she was a “cold-blooded” person.
He said, “When it first happened, she wasn’t there. My sentencing, she wasn’t there. My self-surrendering she wasn’t there. Basically not allowing me to see my children. There was a lot of things that showed me she really wasn’t there for me.”
Nida wrapped up his statement by saying, “When I went away, Phaedra was definitely cold-blooded, cold-hearted.”
As the clip circulated online, many claimed that Parks made the right decision by walking away from her marriage to Nida following his 2014 conviction.
“If you are doing stuff that will affect my name and family I will disassociate. As my man you shouldn’t be opting for scam life expecting me to ride or die..I’m off at the next exit (court or jail in his sense) I’m out.”
“Nobody is obligated to hold you down while you sit for years behind something you decided to do. Normalize people not putting their life on hold for you.”
“Phaedra is me cause go to jail if you want to, imma have to head out. Get away from me with this Apollo.”
“Ummmmmm…. What was she suppose to do? You made your decision to keep stealing and frauding and she made hers to move on.”
“Apollo forgot he committed a crime huh?”
Parks has yet to respond to Nida’s remarks.
