Gary Owen‘s estranged wife Kenya Duke took to social media on Wednesday, July 7, to call out the comedian for taking his alleged mistress Brianna Johnson on vacation. The former couple, who had been together for about 23 years — 18 of those in marriage — is currently working through divorce proceedings.
Duke disclosed in the lengthy caption that her sole reason behind this post was to deny Johnson — whom Duke refers to as a nurse — any funds that Duke said she has helped her family acquire over the years “from a company” she built.
The mother of three said, as she tagged Johnson’s Instagram handle, “I know, who you Brianna Johnson, a nurse at Memorial Hermann Health. You definitely know who I am. You didn’t care @garyowencomedy was/is married and you don’t seem to care he still hasn’t seen his kids (which is weird because you are a baby mama) he still doesn’t financially support his wife. Although, he has sent me Zero money (from a company i help build) I am still paying his bills.”
She added, “Did you enjoy the Bahamas and Florida spending our family money? You can have him but the money, NOPE!!! Lawyer up, you have now become a big part of this divorce. Gurl, Can’t wait to see that tan in court. BTW…your friends dont like you. They out here spilling all your cheating tea. @garyowencomedy the escorts are spilling yours.”
Duke reiterated those similar sentiments in the initial post’s caption as she further exposed what she points out as indiscretions of her estranged husband. The 47-year-old claimed that Owen allegedly paid $600 for 30 minutes with escorts and slammed the “Think Like a Man” star for not spending time with his children, an accusation Duke previously claimed in the past as well.
She said,”@garyowencomedy I don’t care about any of these paid relationships. Although, I do think $600 for 30 min is too expensive and you were tripping if I tried to order a $12.00 side dishes when we ate out…Wow! What I do care about is you doing the right thing financially when it comes to me. (‘It ain’t gone be right…until you do right) Does Brianna know I am still paying your bills? How does an old dude, choose a chick that doesn’t care about his relationship with his kids and she got kids? What kind of mother can @_itsbribri_ be?”
Duke wrapped up the caption by thanking the many people who have sent her information about Owen’s alleged cheating and suggested that she had “enough side chicks and escorts in my inbox to last a lifetime.” She also warned the alleged women that she would see them in court for using “my half of the money.”
Hours later, Duke unveiled that her initial motive when filing for divorce in March was “to reveal in someway anything i needed to know” about Owen’s alleged cheating. She added that although she heard the previous allegations of extramarital affairs over the years against her husband, she didn’t necessarily believe them. In the post, Duke also brought up Owen’s recent interview on “The Wendy Williams Show.” She bashed the comedian for denying the cheating allegations while also shouting out Johnson on the air.
She said, “You go on national tv ‘to announce you weren’t cheating’ (while at the same time giving her a shot out) so f–king bold. which was saying I am a liar. You know my feelings about character.”
Duke continued the post by defending her name and expressing her motive behind why she has decided to speak out publicly about her ongoing divorce. She told her followers it’s because that is how Owen “wants to communicate” and shared that other people shouldn’t judge her if they haven’t “lived, loved or invested in a manipulating narcissist.” Duke closed the lengthy caption by saying she refuses to apologize for her actions.
She said, “You don’t know, the secrets I have had to keep, you don’t know the day to day, so if my post make you uncomfortable…unfollow me. I will say it again…I am back and focused. I am not asking permission or apologizing for s–t. It is what it is.”
Duke initially filed for divorce from Owen in March of this year after 18 years of marriage; at the time, no apparent reason behind the split was provided.
