Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams gave fans insight on Nene Leakes‘ departure from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
On Monday, Sept. 21, on “The Wendy Williams Show” Wendy who was wearing a flowy yellow dress, paired with blonde locks and flashy accessories, said she believed Nene’s exit was money-related. “It’s a money thing…She said she can’t do it. She knows what she’s worth and she can’t be there. There’s not enough filming time for her to make sense and there’s not enough money in it for her to make sense.”
Wendy also speculated that the former reality star won’t be gone for long. The 56 year old said, “Nene will always be the queen bee and I don’t believe she won’t be back. I think she likes a lot of attention and I think Bravo likes to boil the pot and bring them back. In conclusion, I don’t believe anything about the Nene thing.” According to Page Six, Wendy went as far as to text “Housewives” executive producer Andy Cohen, who revealed that there’s going to be “a lot of surprises this season.”
Nene broke the web last week when she announced that she would not be returning to the hit reality show after months’-long negotiations. “I have been on an extremely, extremely, long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation. There has been a lot of emotions flying from both sides. It has been hard, and I have made the very hard and difficult decision to not be a part of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 13.” This announcement happened shortly after Nene re-activated her Instagram on Sept. 17. She captioned the post “sometimes you have to hit the reset button.” Nene was seen wearing black lingerie, paired with honey-blonde locks, and a full face of makeup.
Nene has been a part of the show since its debut in 2008. However, she didn’t take part in seasons eight or nine due to prior engagements. She came back to the hit show on season 10.
