Actress Marsai Martin Lands Her Own Show Titled ‘Tiny Talk Show’ at Quibi

“Black-ish” star Marsai Martin can now add television show host to her growing resume. The 15 year old recently landed a gig as the host of the world’s “smallest functional talk show” titled “Tiny Talk Show,” according to Deadline

According to a statement released by the network, Martin will “ask the big questions and steer us through this new world as we discover sometimes the littlest voices are the loudest” on a set that is one-sixth scale of an actual set. The outlet disclosed that the mission of the show is to be “intimate, revealing, and devoted to subjects with a lot to say.”

The actress will also serve as the executive producer on the new show, alongside Joshua Martin and Carol Martin, her parents. “Tiny Talk Show” will stream exclusively on Quibi, a short-form streaming platform that generates content for viewing on mobile devices. However, there’s no official word on the premiere date for the first episode of “Tiny Talk Show.”

Martin confirmed the news on her Instagram account on Wednesday, July 29, with a screenshot of the DEADLINE article writing, “Excited to announce this project! Thanks to Quibi, Art & Industry, and all of our producing partners.” She added, “A special congrats to my Head of television, Nicole Dow. Here’s to the first of many 💙💙.”

Fans and peers showered the actress with congrats, including journalist and media personality Danielle Young, who wrote, “You are a light in the world my friend.” Kiki Layne commented, “Yeeesss build your Hollywood Empire!!!”

In her young life, Martin already has earned seven NAACP Image Awards and two BET Awards for her role as Diane Johnson on the ABC-TV sitcom “Black-ish.” In January 2019, Martin became the youngest executive film producer in Hollywood history for her film “Little.”

Not only did Martin executive produce, but the movie was her idea, and she pitched it to a studio with scriptwriter Tracy Y. Oliver. Oliver admitted that she was blown away by the confidence shown by Martin, who was 11 at the time. During that period, Martin told Entertainment Tonight, “This is the first movie I have in front of the camera and behind the camera.” She added, “And it’s not gonna be the last.”
