Toni Braxton is updating her playlist. The R&B singer recently encouraged fans to give her a list of their favorite musical artists, but most people expressed the idea that they loved the seven-time Grammy-Award-winning singer and wanted her to release another song.
The “Braxtons Family Values” reality star posted an image on Instagram that showed her looking at her iPad. Standing in front of a green screen, the mother of two struck her pose by placing one hand near her bangs and the other on the back of her device. “I want to spice up my playlist, tag some new artists I need to be listening to 🎶,” she wrote.
Toni’s comment section instantly flooded with people begging the Maryland native to drop a new hit record. One IG user wrote: “I’m tryna spice up mines too….I’m ready for another single👀🤣@tonibraxton.” Another fan agreed and commented: “Your new music on there would be nice🤣.”
At the beginning of April, Toni signed a record deal with Island Records and released an empowering new single, “Do It,” in honor of her large accomplishment. The emotional song offers advice to anyone struggling to leave an unhealthy relationship. Toni hinted in a statement that her friend’s dysfunctional relationship inspired her to create the track.
“I wrote this song about a year ago when a friend was going through the struggles of trying to end a relationship that wasn’t good for her. We have all been through situations like this, when there is really nothing more to say, you know he’s not right and you just need to do what you need to do. There is also an element of hope in the song, that after you do what you need to do things will get better.”
As of late, the “Living Legend’s” single is sitting at number five on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay charts. Toni isn’t the only Braxton that graced the charts. Her youngest sister, Tamar Braxton, secured the number-nine spot for her single “Crazy Kind of Love.” The song is a remake of Whitney Houston‘s single, “Saving All My Love for You” and was featured on the “True to the Game 2” soundtrack.
