Ciara‘s hubby Russell Wilson is working on turning his stepson, Future Zahir Wilburn, into the family’s next NFL superstar, and he shared the 5-year-old’s impressive progress on social media.
The proud stepdad posted a video on Instagram of Future Zahir, whose father is rapper Nayvadius “Future” Wilburn, and Russell Wilson QB Academy coach Jake Heaps practicing some fancy footwork, a video Wilson captioned “QB Work! Young star in the makin’.” Fans praised the Seahawks quarterback for investing time into passing his talents along to the next generation.
Playing football together is one of Wilson’s favorite activities that the two have bonded over, and, judging by little man’s skills, it appears to be paying off.
In the post, little Future and his new short ‘do are seen running a quarterback drill, getting the training that most could only dream of providing for a child at an early age. Not only is the young man clean in his Jordan outfit, his skills are improving, and viewers took note.
The video received over 600,000 likes. Watching Russell help prepare his stepson to be an NFL beast warmed fans’ hearts, and they left plenty of comments letting him know what a great job he’s doing (over 1200 comments, to be exact).
“I love that he’s preparing him to be a QB, building a LEADER,” one fan wrote.
“I love the way you love this kid!!! 🖤,” a second exclaimed.
“Yessss Russs!!! Proverbs 22:6 TRAIN UP A CHILD 🙏🏾🙏🏾,” affirmed a third.
“Look at that foot work 🔥,” a fourth follower complimented.
“Kudos to you for executing love support guidance and time amongst other things that kids need to thrive. 🙌🏾,” a fifth gushed.
Fans who are used to seeing Future Zahir rocking a longer, curly mohawk were shocked when his mom debuted his new cut on social media in an image she shared showing her son posing in a Kobe Bryant Lakers jersey.
Ciara and Russell Wilson married in 2016. Future Zahir is big brother to Russell and Ciara’s 3-year-old daughter, Sienna Princess Wilson. The family is preparing to welcome a baby boy this year.
