It looks like Tamar Braxton is flexing her “inches” on social media this week.
The “Braxton Family Values” star cut off her hair a year-and-a-half ago and now it appears to be growing back. Braxton took to Instagram on Monday and posted a photo of her recent hair growth from the past few months.
The image showed her hair placed into a small ponytail. Her mane barely fit into the tiny rubber band holding it together. Braxton seemingly poked fun at her short hair and wrote in her caption, “Stay motivated. it’s going to be an Amazing week #iwon 😌😂”
Her fans cracked up at her remarks and chimed underneath her comments.
“Snatched literally ❤️😂 that’s that, dropping the kids off real quick then back to bed I go, type ponytail! @tamarbraxton gimmie your damn phone sis * DELETES* 🤣”
“🙌🏾 All damn GO HEAD GO HEAD SHORTY NEW GROWTH ON HER !! @tamarbraxton with the Baltimore phony tail lol🤣💯”
“The struggle ponytail 😂 you can curl it wit rice shiiid 🙌 that little pinky finger”
“That’s not a ponytail sis that’s an Ox tail But I’m here for it 😂 be faithful in your little twig…. you go girl!”
Braxton, who was known for rocking long blond hair, changed up her complete look last year.
In a March 2018 Instagram post, the singer posted a video of herself in a salon chair shaving off her hair. She explained at the time that her big chop was a sign of liberation.
“I’m over feeling captive to a wig, weave, people, people’s comments & opinions hell…even my OWN feelings!” she wrote in a selfie of her then newly shaved head. “WE can choose to stop these things from having the power and victory over us!! And for me, that starts TODAY.”
Many fans believed Braxton’s drastic haircut had to do with her divorce from ex-husband Vincent Herbert at the time, but the mother of one slapped down those comments.
Also, while Braxton was feeling her new haircut, many of her fans were not. She, however, made it clear to critics that she wasn’t changing her new ‘do anytime soon.
“Some of y’all are like… OK. We need ya hair back. 🤦🏽♀️ Well, listen… I’m just not ready…” she wrote via Instagram on December 5, 2018. ” I wish I could explain it… I’ve grown it back just to cut it back off.”
