Those interested in rocking some of the clothes that Will Smith wore on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” can now do so, because the actor has released new merchandise inspired by the show.
The line is called “Bel-Air Athletics,” named after the fictional school that Smith’s character and his cousin Carlton Banks attended.
Some of the items include a gray hoodie with the name of the school printed in red letters, several T-shirts that show Smith in animation, plus, shorts, socks and a reversible sweatsuit.
“So this is regular, just a sweatsuit,” Smith said in a promotional clip. “Until it’s not just a sweatsuit.”
The least expensive item is a $6 air freshener of Smith in animation, and the most expensive is a $200 gym bag that comes with the sweatsuit, a Bel-Air T-shirt, Bel-Air socks and a basketball.
That bundle package has already been sold out, however, which might be a sign of how badly people want the items. A lot of folks also expressed excitement about the clothes underneath Smith’s promotional video.
“I NEVER buy merch or get interested in them. But DAMN that jacket looks fresh asf ,” one person wrote.
“This fit is so fly ! I had to get one with the yellow socks,” a second person commented.
“So noone gonna talk about how TOUGH that jacket he wearing is paired with the Bel-air Shirt??!!! 🔥🔥🔥” wrote another.
There were a few people, however, who said the pricing was a little rich.
“When you have to actually be from Bel-Air to be able to afford the merch prices,” someone commented.
“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” ran for six seasons from 1990 to 1996 on NBC, and besides Smith it co-starred Karyn Parsons, Tatyana Ali, Alfonso Ribeiro and James Avery, who played Uncle Phil.
Avery passed away in 2013 at the age of 68 after having open-heart surgery.
